D’Addazio expands ultra-high spider fleet
03 June 2021

Italy-based rental company D’Addazio has added a new XTJ 52+ spider lift to its fleet, in order to cater to a rising demand for ultra-high reach aerial platforms.
Located in the country’s central region of Abruzzo, the company recently took delivery of the XTJ 52+, which offers a maximum height of 52m and a 19.5m outreach.
According to manufacturer Palazzani Industrie, equipment capable of working at such extreme heights have been in increasing demand.
The company said that the need for better telecommunications brought on by the pandemic had accelerated the country’s installation of 5G systems, as adults and children were forced to work and study from home.
Mr. D’Addazio, owner of Abruzzo-based D’Addazio, said, “We’ve celebrated the arrival of this prestigious machine with my collaborators.
“We have some jobs in Telecoms application to be undertaken immediately, and we are also sure that the Italian Superbonus funds for houses restructuring activities will give us a lot to do in the coming months.”
The company’s new spider platform is equipped with a 400kg basket and features the optional PalConnect telematics system, which provides remote assistance, geolocation and web management functions.
D’Addazio’s investment in the ultra-high reach unit is reflective of the global rush to speed up telecommunication capabilities.
France-based lifting and maintenance services provider MediaCo has also become one of Palazzani’s most recent customers to add the XTJ 52 model.
MediaCo, which has a network of 80 local agencies, recently used its new spider lift to carry out repositioning and component replacement works to antenna that had already been installed on 50-metre high water tank.

Jérôme Augereau, an operator at MediaCo, said, “The fact is that the working site was very difficult: there was a limited set-up area and the boom of the machine had to get as close as possible to the roof.
“It was necessary to reach a working height of 42 meters and an outreach of 9 meters to accomplish the job. A hard work, but not impossible, thanks to the Spider XTJ 52”.
