ERA to expand cybersecurity guide

The ERA Cybersecurity Working Group has confirmed plans to extend the scope of its ‘Guide to cybersecurity leading practice in the equipment rental industry,’ published last year.
The association confirmed the objectives of its cybersecurity working group for 2022 would be “to extend the scope of the guide to new areas such as cyber-insurance.”
It would also assess the feasibility of establishing benchmarks or standards in some areas of cybersecurity and “review the need to update the guide based on feedback and developments in technology and regulations.”
The ‘Guide to cybersecurity leading practice in the equipment rental industry’ was published last June to help equipment rental companies plan, develop and continuously improve their cybersecurity.
It defines the enterprise-wide scope of cybersecurity interventions, identifies the core elements of a successful strategy, including the factors that may impact rental companies.
It also covers best practice being adopted by industry leaders.
