Haulotte introduces MEWP control and safety upgrade

Haulotte has introduced the Advanced Access Management (AAM) feature which is integrated into the company’s Sherpal telematics solution.

Designed to enhance safety, security and fleet efficiency, AAM allows fleet managers to control machine access and usage remotely while reducing unauthorized operations, thus increasing onsite safety.

Whether managing a single machine or an entire fleet, operators can only access equipment using a predefined code or RFID card, ensuring that only trained personnel are authorized to operate.

The features include:

Safe control

“By using our own IoT solution we can now send information right from the machine. This is important for the safety of the machine and operator because it allows us to send information to the machine computer to limit machine movement in the safest way,” said the company.

In addition, AAM also offers geofencing, in which machines operate within a predefined area. Leaving that zone restricts lifting functions and limits speed. The Timefence feature ensures is operable only during specific times, preventing unauthorized out-of-hours use.

The Faulty tracker protection feature applies usage restrictions if a tracker is removed or damaged, and the Remote restriction setting allows managers to manually restrict machine usage to address evolving site conditions.

The company added, “What makes AAM unique is that it never leaves the machine completely immobilized. Even when restrictions are activated, operators are still allowed to operate for essential safety manoeuvres, such as lowering a basket or moving equipment at low speed.

“Additionally, operators can access system status on the machine’s interface, offering a user-friendly experience that improves comfort for operators on the job site.”
