Itochu extends Aichi shareholding
15 April 2026
Japan’s Itochu Corp is to buy an additional 6% of Aichi Corp’s shares to add to the more than 26% shareholding it acquired in the aerial platform manufacturer in May 2025.
Itochu said that since the capital alliance last year it had built a strong partnership with Aichi, creating joint initiatives for growth; “including the strengthening of value chains in the domestic market in areas such as finance, after-sales services and used vehicle sales, as well as the development of overseas markets.”

It said; “through this stock acquisition, Itochu will further strengthen its collaboration with Aichi Corp and further accelerate the company’s sustainable growth and the creation of synergies with the Itochu Group.”
Extends Hitachi Machinery holding
Meanwhile, Itochu also said that it had completed the previously announced increase in its ownership stake in Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM) to 33.4%.
This stake is held by Itochu directly and through its full ownership of HCJI, a special purpose company funded by Japan Industrial Partners Inc and Citrus Investment GK. Citrus is 100% owned by Itochu.
HCM, which is to rebrand as Landcros Corp in April next year, said in February that “Itochu has consistently supported HCM’s efforts to achieve further growth and advancement in HCM’s business, while also providing medium- to long-term support as a shareholder.
“HCM will continue to deepen collaboration in various aspects of the business as an important partner.”
