JLG's 45m Ultraboom arrives in Europe

The first JLG 1500SJ has been delivered to the company's European facility in Maasmechelen, The Netherlands. The machine, believed to be the largest self propelled telescopic boom available, was unveiled at ConExpo in Las Vegas earlier in the year
On arrival, Roger Orton, JLG's field training manager, conducted a training course on service and maintenance for JLG's technical managers. This gave the participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the new Ultraboom .
The 1500SJ has a 45.72m platform height requiring and the 7.52m telescoping jib adds to the machines flexibility. In common with other JLG Ultrabooms, the 1500SJ has dual 450kg/230kg (1000/500lb) capacity, three steering modes, is designed to manage rough terrain and features user friendly systems, such as an LCD display that communicates machine functions, to assist operators when positioning the platform.
The 1500SJ has a 40% gradability, a steel hood and a 53 gallon fuel tank. According to JLG, the unit is the big brother to the company's 1350SJP telescopic Ultra Series boom lift and the 15000SJ requires only a weight permit to transport.
