Kennards Hire expands major projects capability

Australia-based rental company Kennards Hire has expanded its Specialist Solutions operation to cover major infrastructure and complex projects in Australia and New Zealand.

The service will integrate Kennards’ specialist offering - including products such as pumps, fencing, site compounds and power – with general equipment, compliance assistance, installation and project management support.

Kennards said the move was in response to customer frustration with the complexity of coordinating multiple suppliers on large projects, with problems such as different timelines and increased compliance risk.

David Schurman, general manager of fleet at Kennards, said; “We’ve been supporting major infrastructure projects for many years, and what’s exciting is how we’re continuing to expand and evolve.

“Project leads don’t want to be dealing with multiple suppliers and are recognising the benefits of having everything at their disposal under one reliable organisation.

“While dry hire remains at the core of who we are, our customers are increasingly looking to us for more than equipment alone, they see us as a trusted project partner, and we’re only getting stronger in this space.”

Kennards said key features of the expanded service included earlier involvement at tender and planning stages; oversight on installation, verification and compliance to keep projects safe and on schedule; and the involvement of mobile expert teams with national reach.

The new service is already operating on several major projects, including Sydney Fish Markets, Throsby Creek Footbridge in Newcastle, Dunedin Hospital in New Zealand and Adelaide’s North-South Corridor T2D development
