LGH, the UK-based specialist in renting lifting and moving equipment, has opened its first rental depot in France, located in Dreux, west of Paris.

The company - also known as Lifting Gear Hire - already has rental operations in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, as well as Australia, USA and Canada. It described the Paris opening as a “strategic milestone in LGH’s European expansion”.

The Dreux facility has a warehouse stocked with equipment including hoists up to 100 tonnes capacity, gantries, hydraulic jacking equipment, rigging gear such as slings and modular spreader beams, and general material handling and moving systems.

Andy Mault, CEO of LGH Europe, said: “LGH’s expansion into France is a natural progression in our international growth journey, following successful operations in North America and, most recently, Australia.

France offers strong opportunities in infrastructure, ports, and energy - especially in the transition to solar and wind power - where quality service and dependable equipment are essential. With a well-developed lifting market and a strong regulatory framework for health and safety, we are confident our approach aligns perfectly.

He added: “Having already supported French projects from our Antwerp base, this local presence allows us to deliver expert lifting solutions with faster delivery, broader equipment availability, and dedicated local service.”

The local operations team includes LGH foreman Koffi Ahawo and account manager, Lorenzo du Burck, who has more than five year’s experience with LGJH in the Benelux and France.

LGH has five rental locations in the UK and more than 23 in the USA and Canada. It has single locations in France, Belgium and the Netherlands and two in Germany.
