Loxam reported last Wednesday (4 February) that customer data may have been stolen through one of the third-party software systems that it uses for planning equipment deliveries.

“At this stage, our investigation indicates that none of the stolen data is likely to harm our clients”, said Loxam, “This data breach is contained, has ceased, and will be reported to the relevant authorities.”

It said its normal operations have not been impacted.

Loxam said an investigation was underway to determine the origin and extent of the breach. The investigation is being carried out in collaboration with the software company - which Loxam said was a leading player - and independent cybersecurity experts.

Loxam has confirmed that the issue only concerns its French business.
