Rent A Lift/Russian Lifting Company want to develop a rental business.

Slava Istomin, general manager of Moscow, Russia-based Rent A Lift/Russian Lifting Company, told Access International that he is trying to develop a rental operation throughout Russia; “If you want to rent [far away from Moscow] then you have to pay a technician's salary. There are rental companies only in Moscow and St Petersburg, but there are a lot of other big cities and they are still using scaffolding.” His company has a rental fleet of 200 new and used machines, and aims to sell around 100 units every year. “Without rental, you cannot be successful in Russia”, he said, “The customers trust you more if you are a rental company, so they can try the product before buying.” Mr Istomin established Rent A Lift several years ago after leaving Moscow crane and hoist rental company Rentakran.

Terex has appointed Glyn Goodwin as its UK regional sales manager for the Terex Aerial Work Platform (AWP) business, including Genie, Terex Lift and Terex light construction products. Mr Goodwin, who will report to John Fuller, Terex AWP UK divisional sales manager, joined Terex AWP in December 2005 and has extensive experience in the access industry. Before his new appointment he was manager of Terex AWP's European used equipment business.
