Ruthmann compact launch
29 June 2021
Ruthmann has launched an upgraded compact truck mounted platform, the 30m working height Steiger T 300 XS.
The 7.59m long model is more than 60cm shorter than its predecessor, the T 300, making it the most compact 30m lift on a 7.49 tonne chassis, according to the manufacturer.
The new T 300 XS also provides a 23m outreach, an additional 2m more than the previous model.
Together the machine’s range of new features including the shorter overall length and a reduced rear overhang, increase safety when its used in urban spaces.
The new 7.59m vehicle length is made possible with its new boom head design, which has allowed the retracted boom to be reduced by 60cm. Ruthmann engineers achieved this by optimising the boom profile to make it more stable, as well as introducing more compact boom heads, as has already been done on the Steiger T 900 HF.
Thanks to its greater outreach, the model now covers a wider range of applications without having to move the machine, for projects ranging from building cleaning to tree pruning.
To achieve the outreach, the telescopic elements, substructure and turret were redesigned, which also led to an increased basket load of 350kg – 30kg more than the previous model.

High strength steel
For the first time, two of the telescopic cylinders use high-strength fine-grained steel, further optimising the telescopic profile. Likewise, the cables are inside the telescopic section, creating a more compact structure and a greater ease of maintenance.
The model’s new jack control stand, which already exists on the manufacturer’s TB/TBR range, is used as standard for the first time in the T range. It is integrated into the chassis at eye level and offers a range of operator-friendly options to ensure the machine is fully stabilised at all times.
Ruthmann’s proven robust basket 2 x 90° rotating device is also standard on the T 300 XS. In addition, the basket from the T range is compatible with other baskets from the same range, including insulated and tree care options, as well as the large 2.10m wide basket.
The cab provides ergonomic functions and real-time operating data, while the platform can be mounted on a range of 7.49 tonne to 8.6 tonne chassis from Mercedes-Benz, MAN, or Iveco.
