Aerial platform specialist Ruthmann is to show a new 3.5-tonne Steiger truck mount at this year’s Bauma construction exhibition in Munich, Germany.

The Ruthmann Steiger T 300 XS Hybrid truck mount offers a 30m working height with a maximum outreach of 23m, and has an extra short (XS) design that gives it an overall length of 7.59m.

Its design is based on that of the T 300 diesel-powered model that was launched last year - which is suitable for applications such as building maintenance and is described as being “very manoeuvrable”.

According to the company, which will share stand FS 1006/4 with sister manufacturer Versalift, the hybrid model will be displayed along with the Steiger TBR 260 truck mount.

The Steiger TBR 260 will be a “representative of the entire TB/TBR series”, which comprises five models with working heights of up to 30m and outreaches of up to 18.1m.

“The 3.5t truck mounted platforms are particularly popular with operators as they can be driven with a class B car driver’s license,” said Stefan Linnemann, Head of Sales and Marketing at Ruthmann.

“As a result, they are part of the standard range offered by work platform rental companies, and trade businesses such as painters and varnishers, building cleaners or garden and landscaping contractors are increasingly including them in their own fleets.”

The largest truck mount displayed at Bauma by the company will be the compact Steiger T 700 HF. Incorporating a chassis that measures less than 12m long, the T 700 has a working height of 70m and offers an outreach of 41m.

“Thanks to its great working height and reach, the Steiger will be visible from afar and will serve as a signpost to the Ruthmann booth,” said Linnemann.

The company will also use the Steiger T 700 HF to demonstrate its new Ruthmann Technology Connect (RTC) technology. It enables equipment owners and fleet managers to monitor their machines remotely.

Visitors to the show will also be able to see some of Ruthmann’s tracked aerial platforms, such as the BLUELIFT SA 18 Hybrid and the Bluelift ST 31 spider lifts for example.

The Bluelift ST 31 offers a working height of 31m and an outreach of 18m. It is fitted with a 400kg-capacity and is also the first tracked machine to feature the manufacturer’s Premium Steiger technology.
