Star Platforms upgrades maintenance fleet

UK-based Star Platforms has invested in 25 new Ford Transit Custom 320 L1 diesel FWD vans, replacing its existing engineering fleet.

The new vans feature automatic transmission, a first for Star Platforms’ engineering fleet, which has already been welcomed by the team. The update not only enhances driver comfort, particularly on long or busy schedules, but also supports smoother, more efficient travel between sites. For customers, this means engineers can arrive fresh and ready to focus on getting equipment back into operation quickly.

Ian Mitchell, Operations Director at Star Platforms, commented, “Our engineers play a vital role in keeping customers’ machines working safely and efficiently. By investing in the latest vehicles, we’re making sure they can get to site quickly, with the tools and equipment they need, and with the comfort of modern features that make their working day easier. This is about delivering the best service to our customers while also looking after our people.”

The vans also carry updated Star Platforms branding, giving the fleet a fresh, modern look, said the company, that reflects its professional image and strengthens brand presence.

Compact yet spacious, the Ford Transit Custom 320 L1 low-roof models provide excellent load space for carrying essential parts and tools, while being agile enough for city driving and easy access to sites. The latest generation engines also deliver lower emissions, reflecting Star Platforms’ commitment to maintaining an environmentally responsible fleet.

Alongside delivering clear customer benefits, the investment highlights Star Platforms’ focus on its employees. “A modern fleet helps make day-to-day work more practical and enjoyable, supporting staff retention and strengthening the company’s appeal to new team members looking to join a forward-thinking powered access provider,” said the company.
