Tadano to highlight US aerial lift expansion at ConExpo

Tadano is strengthening its market presence in North America as it expands into the aerial platform segment with a range of specialized, high-capacity access models, which will be on show at ConExpo.

According to Erik Elzinga, Vice President of AWP & Tadano Utilities, Pan-America, specialized access equipment is seeing increasing acceptance in the US market. “The customer response to Tadano’s aerial work platform offering in North America has been very positive,” said Elzinga.

“The specifications are getting noticed, particularly the high platform capacities, which allow customers to accomplish more in harsh terrain or heavy-lift situations, as well as the advanced control systems, and crawler-based mobility. This market acceptance confirms the demand for differentiated access solutions designed for challenging jobsite conditions.”

The expansion into MEWPs builds directly on Tadano’s core strengths in engineering, manufacturing, and customer support, added Elzinga, with a  focus on high-specification and application-driven segments of the access market, while solving access challenges in demanding environments.

Since entering the North American aerial work platform market, with the acquisition of Manitex International in 2025, Tadano has established a portfolio designed to address high-capacity requirements, rough terrain environments, and specialized access needs, backed by the performance defined by Tadano’s cranes.

Tadano’s aerial platform lineup brings together crawler, wheeled, spider, and truck-mounted solutions. They include the AS-63HD, with a 2,200-pound market leading platform capacity and a 13ft 9in × 6ft 4in × 3ft 7in platform, engineered to handle large volumes of materials and tools. Its exclusive single-joystick, four-motion control system enables precise and simultaneous vertical and horizontal movement across all boom functions.

The AS crawler boom series leverages Tadano’s crawler technology to deliver low ground pressure and up to 57% gradeability, while the articulated, narrow tracked AL68 spider lift crawler with outriggers is designed for a range of applications where compact dimensions and access, including for tree care are essential.
