United Rentals CEO gets Glassdoor rating accolade

United Rentals’ CEO Matthew Flannery has been ranked the 15th best leader of a large US company in Glassdoor’s ‘Best CEOs Awards’, based entirely on employee feedback.

Glassdoor is the US-based company that allows employees to rate their employer and leaders and its CEO award is founded solely on anonymous reviews and ratings.

The company used reviews submitted in the 12 months to 15 May 2026, looking at the quantity, quality and consistency of reviews.

Flannery was the second top ranked CEO in the construction and industrial product sectors, with home renovation business Power Home Remodelling at number 14 (Corey Schiller and Asher Raphael).

Who else made the top 50?

Rick Lanoha of Kiewit was at 16, DG Macpherson of distribution business Grainger ranked 20, and Jennifer Rumsey, CEO of engine manufacturer Cummins, was ranked 39.

The highest ranked leader was Jensen Huang of chip maker Nvidia.

United Rentals has approximately 27,900 employees in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
