Italian manufacturer Bravi Platforms has introduced the Residential 170, a compact low-level access platform developed specifically for the residential construction sector.

Designed as an alternative to ladders and scaffolding—still among the most widely used yet riskiest equipment in residential work—the push-around lift offers a platform height of 1.7 meters (5 feet, 7 inches) and a working height of 3.7 meters (12 feet, 2 inches). Measuring 66 centimeters (26.2 inches) wide and weighing 360 kilograms (794 pounds), the unit can pass through narrow hallways and doorways and operate on delicate floors without damage.

Bravi said the Residential 170 can reduce operating times by up to 50% and lower ladder-related accident risks by as much as 75%, citing European safety data. The platform is aimed at improving productivity and ergonomics on jobsites where workers face aging demographics and increasing labor shortages. According to industry figures, ladder-related incidents account for roughly 25% of construction accidents in Europe, while scaffolding contributes to another 10%.

“Residential construction represents about one-third of the global construction market,” said Pierino Bravi, CEO of Bravi Platforms. “We designed the Residential 170 to meet the specific needs of this expanding sector, combining safety, simplicity, and efficiency for indoor environments.”

The company said the model’s lightweight structure and push-around capability allow for quick repositioning even in tight or confined spaces, while its design minimizes fatigue and reduces repetitive-stress injuries. Bravi added that the product’s development aligns with its broader mission to advance safety and efficiency in work-at-height applications.
