Europe drives revenue increase for Haulotte

Haulotte has reported a stronger first half of 2026, with revenue increasing 7% to €276 million at constant exchange rates, excluding the impact of IAS 29.

IAS 29 covers accounting for hyperinflationary economies, and Haulotte has excluded its effects on operations in Argentina and Turkey to provide a clearer year-on-year comparison.

The French access equipment manufacturer said the increase was driven by higher equipment sales volumes, with equipment revenue rising 9% to €234 million. Rental sales fell to €8 million, while services revenue declined to €34 million.

Europe, Haulotte’s largest market, recorded the strongest growth during the period, with revenue up 19% across the majority of markets in which the group operates.

North America also improved during the second quarter, with growth across all activities bringing the region to a 1% increase for the first half. Asia-Pacific revenue declined 13%, which Haulotte said was impacted by the conflict in the Middle East. Latin America was down 24% over the period.

Haulotte said activity increased 18% during the second quarter, contributing to the higher first-half revenue.

Operating income improves

Haulotte increased current operating income to €8 million in the first half, up from €2 million a year earlier, giving the group a 2.9% operating margin.

The company said the improvement was driven by higher sales volumes, effective control of production costs and continued optimisation of its fixed-cost base.

However, Haulotte reported a net loss of €9 million for the first half, excluding IAS 29, an improvement on the loss recorded in H1 2025. The group said net income was primarily affected by financial expenses related to its debt and a particularly high tax expense following a €10.3 million tax reassessment at one of its subsidiaries, a decision it is strongly disputing.

Net debt, excluding guarantees, stood at €205 million, up €4 million over the period but reamined stable.

The company also said a request for a waiver relating to compliance with its June bank-ratio requirements had been accepted by the majority of its lenders as of 30 June.

Looking ahead, Haulotte expects full-year sales growth of at least 5% and said it should return to a positive current operating margin, close to the level reported in the first half.

Haulotte said: “Despite limited visibility and a still uncertain global environment, Haulotte should be able to achieve sales growth of at least 5% in 2026, enabling the group to return to positive current operating margin close to the level reported in the first half of 2026.”
