Genie hybrids launch in Australasia

Genie will showcase its 69 inch wide bi-energy (BE) hybrid rough terrain, electric scissor lift series at the HRIA Convention in Adelaide, Australia, 29-30 April next year.
The new Genie GS-2669, GS-3369 and GS-4069 BE hybrids will be available in the first quarter of 2015 to the Australian and New Zealand market.
According to the company, they are the first rough terrain, high performance electric scissor lifts with an onboard integrated generator to charge the batteries and supply power to the platform and chassis.
“The new Genie hybrid scissor lift is a best in-class series that provides users with a true start to finish’ machine,” said Brad Lawrence, general manager, Terex AWP.
“In the early stages of construction, the scissor keeps itself charged and can supply 240 V AC power when onsite power is not available. As the jobsite progresses it can switch to hybrid or electric to meet rough terrain or indoor slab environments. This type of versatility ultimately leads to higher utilization for rental companies.”
The bi-energy hybrid series is available in 7.70 m, 9.75 m and 12.12 m working height models. They can drive at full height and have a 1.52 m slide out deck on all three models.
