Romania expansion for mateco

Mateco Romania, the Romanian subsidiary of rental group mateco, has acquired PSM Rent, an access equipment, power and forklift rental business active in southern Romania.

PSM Rent was founded in 2019 as a division of PSM Group, a contractor specializing in electrical installations and industrial relocations. Its fleet comprises scissor and boom lifts as well as generators, forklifts and lighting towers.

As part of the asset deal, PSM will remain a rental customer of mateco, and mateco’s new regional depot will be established within a facility developed by PSM near its headquarters in the Ploiești Industrial Park, north of Bucharest.

“The acquisition of PSM Rent is part of mateco Romania’s growth strategy and underlines our ambition to consolidate our leadership position in the Romanian access and industrial equipment rental market,” said Cristian Hiver, general manager of mateco Romania.

“We share the same values and dedication to customer satisfaction, safety, and operational excellence.”

Radu Bogdan Nițu, executive manager of PSM Rent, added: “This partnership with mateco allows PSM Group to strengthen its position in the electrical installation and industrial relocation sector, while ensuring our clients continue to benefit from modern equipment, high-quality services, and top-level support from mateco Romania.”

Anthony Pille, Eastern Europe director at mateco Group, added; “This transaction strengthens our local presence and reflects mateco’s long-term commitment to building a strong, service-oriented network across Central and Eastern Europe.

“By joining forces with a company that shares our values, we can serve customers faster and deliver high-quality equipment and services exactly where and when they need them.”

The mateco group operates in 15 countries across Europe and South America, with a fleet of more than 45,000 aerial work platforms, telehandlers, and forklifts.
