Danish-based rental company Slagelse Liftudlejning has acquired a Falcon FS320Z after a one-week trial from TCA Lift and has already put the aerial platform to work, on the East Bridge of the Great Belt Fixed Link.

The platform's first job was to enable workers to maintain and inspect the anchor blocks underneath the East Bridge. The Falcon's compact size - 1.1 m at its narrowest setting - and its low weight made it the ideal piece of equipment for getting under the bridge.

The platform was hoisted down from the roadway to the anchor blocks by crane. The Falcon then had the job of inspecting the 6790 m long East Bridge. The Falcon's up and over jib arm was able to reach all corners of the sub-structure of the construction.

The Great Belt is a fixed link bridge between the Danish islands of Zealand and Funen. It has the world's third longest main span, at 1.6 km, and the longest outside of Asia. The suspension bridge's pylons tower 254 m high - making this one of the highest structures in the country.
