JLG focuses on aviation at Portugal show

JLG showed its equipment for aviation applications at GSE Expo Europe 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal, which took place earlier this month. 

The company exhibited within parent company Oshkosh Corporation’s booth, alongside Oshkosh AeroTech and other Oshkosh businesses. The display highlighted aviation equipment and technology and solutions from across the corporation, spanning ground support equipment, access equipment, aircraft rescue and firefighting and advanced robotic technology.

The JLG exhibit featured the JLG Toucan 12E SP5 mast boom lift and JLG Power Towers Ecolift WR low level access lift suited to aviation inspection, maintenance, assembly, cleaning and paint applications in narrow spaces and reach difficult areas around aircraft.

The Toucan 12E SP5’s compact, narrow design provides maneuverability around tight aircraft sections and inside hangar aisles. An articulating jib and forklift-style mast provide extended reach and up-and-over capability to access aircraft sections at various heights and angles, including wing undersides, landing gear and engine compartments.

The Toucan 12E SP5 offers an 11.83m working height, 200kg platform capacity and 6.95m up-and-over height. Immediate-response AC drive motors enable precise control and positioning, while non-marking tyres help protect sensitive flooring. The machine is rated for indoor and outdoor use and offers zero-emission, low-noise performance.

Also featured was the JLG Power Towers Ecolift WR, a wind-rated manual access platform designed for indoor and outdoor low level access applications. With a 4.2m working height and 150kg platform capacity, the Ecolift WR features a patented manual lifting mechanism that requires no batteries, charging or hydraulic oil. The features lend themselves to applications such as avionics and cargo door inspections and wing and emergency door maintenance. 

For aviation applications, JLG’s broader access portfolio includes low level access equipment, vertical mast lifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts designed to support applications ranging from landing gear, engine and underbody inspection to aircraft assembly, cleaning and paint application.
