UK super boom delivery
30 May 2023
United Kingdom-based rental company Hire Safe Solutions (HSS) has started taking delivery of a large equipment order from MEWP manufacturer Genie.
The access equipment specialist, which operates a fleet of over 1,200 machines, had previously placed an order for 23 new boom lifts to add to its super boom fleet, which comprises machines with working heights up to 56.8m.
HSS ordered 10 of Genie’s SX-135 XC models, one SX-150 and two SX-180 telescopic boom lifts, as well as 10 of the manufacturer’s ZX -135 articulating boom lift model.
The first of the new machines have now been delivered and will help HSS “meet the needs of a strong, robust construction sector across a range of jobsites and industries” said Genie.
The company, which purchased its first SX-135 XC unit back in 2017, chose the SX-135 XC for its working envelope and lifting capacity. It offers an unrestricted basket capacity of 300kg, a maximum working height of 43.1m and an outreach of 27.4m.
According to Genie, the working height and configuration offered by the ZX-135 model were the key factors behind its selection. The articulating model is designed to work in restricted spaces and is equipped with an extending jib that can reach up to 6.1m.
Gerard Jennings, founder and CEO of Hire Safe Solutions, said, “We know that the marketplace is full of competition and we understand the need to be better, faster, smarter and more cost effective whilst maintaining our integrity through the highest levels of health and safety.”
He added, “These new booms will ensure we can continue to meet our customers’ needs for quality equipment in the honest, reliable manner we are known for.”
